STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – October 11, 2024 – Exeger, the Swedish deep-tech company behind the revolutionary Powerfoyle™ solar cell technology, has announced a long-planned restructuring as well as a reduction of its workforce.
The reorganization is the natural next step in the pursuit of operational excellence and has been planned for twelve months. It is driven by Exeger’s evolution towards increased industrialization and automation to meet growing customer demand. Exeger has been producing Powerfoyle solar cells in both its factories since September 2023 and the company is continuously shipping solar cells to customers, including for the most recently announced second 3M hearing protector model.
On the back of signed contracts and customer forecasts, Exeger has successfully expanded manufacturing capacity by strengthening the production team and investing in machines and systems during 2024. The current capacity is sufficient to cater to short-term demand and reduces the immediate need for an additional shift and other upscaling activities. This results in twenty-five positions being made redundant in addition to the termination of twenty probationary employments, a net growth of approximately 10% compared to 2023.
Exeger is in the process of contacting all relevant unions to negotiate the structural change and redundancy.
