STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – JANUARY 6, 2025 – Exeger, the Swedish deep-tech company behind the revolutionary solar cell technology Powerfoyle™, is proud to unveil the first proof of concept (POC) from its collaboration with renowned original design manufacturer (ODM), Minami, at CES 2025. Building on their 2024 partnership announcement, this milestone marks a step in the journey to integrate sustainable solar technology into the next generation of consumer electronics.
The standout feature of this proof of concept is the improved efficiency of Powerfoyle’s solar cells, now engineered into a slimmer form factor. This advancement not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the headphones but also reduces production costs. By leveraging this cost efficiency, Minami can target a lower price point, making the product accessible to a broader market base. The integration of sustainable energy harvesting with affordability positions this POC as a game-changer in the headphones space, paving the way for eco-conscious yet budget-friendly devices.
Dr Georgios Foufas, Chief Commercial Officer at Exeger, explains, “Partnering with an innovative leader like Minami allows us to bring Powerfoyle’s groundbreaking solar technology to a wider audience, meeting the growing market demand for sustainable and convenient solutions. By making this technology more accessible through an affordable and efficient product, we’re not only addressing what consumers want but also accelerating the mass adoption of Powerfoyle, paving the way for a future where renewable energy is seamlessly integrated into everyday products.”
Terry Zhang, the Chief Executive Officer of Minami, elaborates, “Minami has always been committed to advancing sustainable power technology. With continuous technological progress, solar and chip technologies have gradually matured. We are confident that power generation will ultimately exceed consumption levels.
