Exeger and Leedarson partner to develop light-powered door window sensor for smart home applications, unveiling at CES 2025

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – JANUARY 6, 2025 – Exeger, the Swedish deep-tech company behind the groundbreaking Powerfoyle™ solar cell technology, today announces a strategic partnership with Leedarson, a global leader in smart lighting and IoT (Internet of Things) solutions. Together, they are co-developing a light-powered door window sensor designed to enhance home automation and security systems.

The innovative door window sensor notifies users when a door or window is opened and can trigger customizable actions in response. Its slim design ensures it blends seamlessly into door or window frames, providing an elegant and functional solution for modern smart homes. Powered by Powerfoyle, the sensor harnesses both indoor and outdoor light, eliminating the need for battery replacement.

Powerfoyle’s world-leading solar cell technology efficiently converts indoor and outdoor light into sustainable energy, extending or even eliminating the need for batteries. The solar cell is non-toxic, crafted from responsibly sourced materials, and produced in Sweden using 100% renewable energy with no harmful emissions. Its customizable design allows for seamless integration, making Powerfoyle the ideal solution for innovative, sustainable IoT products where performance and aesthetics go hand in hand.

Georgios Foufas, Chief Commercial Officer at Exeger explains, “Together with Leedarson, we are leading the smart living industry by developing light-powered solutions that give homeowners peace of mind. Knowing that sensors, an integral part of their home alarm systems, have a reliable energy source without needing battery changes will set a new standard for sustainability, convenience, and reliability in home security systems.”

“We’re excited to collaborate with Exeger to integrate Powerfoyle technology into our new light-powered door window sensor, with plans for expansion after market validation,” said Cindy Chen, VP Global Sales & Marketing, LEEDARSON. “As a responsible, sustainable company, we constantly seek ways to make a positive environmental impact. Powerfoyle offers a sustainable solution for harnessing power from indoor environments. This partnership enables us to provide customers with an eco-friendly alternative without compromising on user experience or quality.”

The partnership between Exeger and Leedarson underscores a shared vision to advance smart living through sustainable technology. By combining Leedarson’s expertise in IoT and Exeger’s industry-leading solar innovation, the companies are developing new products that enhance convenience and reduce environmental impact.
