Exeger joins Qualcomm® Extension Program with Powerfoyle, its patented solar cell material capable of turning any light source into electricity
SEPTEMBER 23, 2021 – STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – Joining the Qualcomm Extension program will help manufacturers to integrate Powerfoyle’s light-harvesting technology within new product designs and offer self-charging capabilities on a range of new devices which support Qualcomm Technologies’ products.
Exeger, the Swedish industrial company, today announces that it has joined the Qualcomm® Extension Program. Through this program, Exeger will offer Powerfoyle to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and original design manufacturer (ODMs) that use the products available from Qualcomm Technologies Inc.
Exeger’s Powerfoyle is a ground-breaking solar cell material that converts all forms of light into electrical energy and can be seamlessly integrated into electronic devices, powering them with clean endless energy from the ambient light around you, both indoors and outdoors.
The Qualcomm Extension program is designed to connect Qualcomm Technologies’ customers with an ecosystem of solution providers, offering a cost-effective path to differentiated products. In joining the program, Exeger aims to accelerate the integration of its ultra-low-power reference designs into consumer electronics, including wireless earbuds and headsets on the extremely low power premium-tier Qualcomm® QCC51xx series and the entry level QCC30xx series of SoC family of devices.
“We are extremely excited to be announcing our membership to the Qualcomm® Extension Program,” says Giovanni Fili, CEO of Exeger. “As part of the program, we are able to support a wide spectrum of self-powered devices, such as headphones and earbuds, with Powerfoyle, completely foregoing the need for conventional charging. We are already working with a diverse mix of brands and have so far announced self-powered headphone with Urbanista and adidas Headphones, and a bicycle helmet with an integrated safety taillight, together with POC. Our collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies marks yet another exciting step for the company.”
